{"id":125,"date":"2010-08-25T17:49:49","date_gmt":"2010-08-25T22:49:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.devonfernandez.com\/bike10\/?p=125"},"modified":"2010-08-25T17:49:49","modified_gmt":"2010-08-25T22:49:49","slug":"mass-ride-metric","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.devonfernandez.com\/bike10\/?p=125","title":{"rendered":"Mass Ride Metric"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two weekends ago three folks set out with the intent to cycle 62 miles without any hitch. \u00a0The ride started in Lexington, Ma and passed over rolling hill after rolling hill through towns like Concord, Westford to Groton and back to Lexington. \u00a0The weather as I recall was perfect for riding. \u00a0Sunny but not too hot! \u00a0The route markings were easy to follow except for one wrong turn. \u00a0A mile or so down the road, we stopped, took a quick peak at the maps were quickly back on route. \u00a0I have to\u00a0say that this ride was rolling hill after another rolling hill. \u00a0There were a few short but steep sections but really not until near the end (about 5 miles or so from the end) did it slowly start to even out.<\/p>\n<p>This bike ride was to mark a milestone for me. \u00a0It was my longest bike ride ever. \u00a0At the end of the ride, Devon clocked 67.5 miles. The ride took us a lot longer than\u00a0originally\u00a0anticipated. \u00a0Around mile 42, I was given the gift of leg cramps. \u00a0A gift that 12 days later I still can&#8217;t return. \u00a0I am still working on my legs to get them back to normal. \u00a0 All said and done, I really rode 67.5 miles!!
